Thing is, one could probably say that about most brands of pianos.ĭigital Pianos - Electronic Pianos - Synths &a. If you want to paint all Kimball brand pianos with a broad brush, from what I have read here on the PW forums over the years and based on my own experience, I'd say Kimball pianos are average in general, with some better than average and some below average. That fact along may be worth something and it may not. The Kimball name itself is well known and has been around a long time. But that is just my opinion of the Kimball grand I owned for a while. I've owned a 5'8" Kimball Viennese model grand from the late 1970s and would consider it better than average. It would be difficult for anyone here, expert and non-expert, to say if the Kimball piano in question is great, good, average, or below average. It sounds to me like you've already answered your own questions, more or less, regarding the Kimball grand. Just an overall opinion if it is great, good, average, below average, etc. I would like to know overall thoughts on the brand in terms of sound quality and performance, not compared to such as Steinway or Bosendorfer, because it is obvious that Kimball is inferior to those big name brands. And yes, I will not be planning to sell it in the future. The piano has high sentimental value, so I won't really be getting out of this one.
